Today I bought some fresh figs at the grocery store because I love dried figs. I was wondering if they taste good to eat as a fresh fruit, and how I would go about that. Also, I am looking for a good recipe that's easy to make using figs. I saw a quick clip on the today show the other morning, but haven't been able to find it since. Can you eat Figs raw? Do you know any good recipes for figs?

YYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMM
I remember Alton Brown did a show on figs for the food network. You can get on their website and do a search for figs and see what comes up
Skin them and take off the stems, i love figs too.
Yep, can eat them raw/fresh. I just cook mine down w/ brown sugar, a little white sugar, cinnamon %26amp; nutmeg. cook on low heat, stirring.
Simple %26amp; delicious!
Sure you can! They are delicious. Just make sure you wash them well first and take the stems off if they are too woody. I like both the green and purple figs. I absolutely love fresh figs with goat cheese and mint drizzled with balsamic vinegar. My grandmother used to make fresh fig cake and fresh fig cookies. They are labor intensive, but damned good :) I still make the cake for special ocassions. The cookies not very often. If you do a search for either one on the internet you will come up with a bunch of recipes.
