I would like some recipes for a teenager and 6yo and a 8m yo.Any simple healthy recipes for children?
You could make pasta or spaghetti. Buy a jar of sauce, or cook a tin of chopped tomatoes up with a tub of tomato paste. Add a pinch of salt, pepper, mixed herbs if you want, grated carrot and zucchini and broccoli (any veg in the fridge) - that way they don't really notice the veggies but it's really healthy. Fry up some onions and add them. If you eat meat then add mince, or buy some T.V.P it's really cheap and is protein somehow taken from vegetables. (it looks like mince meat but is dry - to cook you just cover with boiling water and it swells up).
Grating vegetables into pasta sauce is a great way to get vegies into kids. Plus the tomatoes themselves are powerful antioxidants.
As for your baby I was going to suggest they have some of the pasta pureed, but it's not recommended to give pasta to babies that young (I've only based this on a dietitian/naturopath advice out of a cookbook I have here (listed below).
So instead I would just cook heaps of vegies for them and puree. Solids that age aren't supposed to require all their nutritional needs - that's what breast milk or formula does.
I'm sorry I'm not very inventive today but I hope it gave you some ideas!Any simple healthy recipes for children?
for breakfast--poached eggs on toast or pancakes/waffles with fruit.
Quesadillas! Put just about anything between two tortillas and warm... some of our favorites are shrimp, avocado and queso blanco--- chicken, red onion, cheedar cheese and tomato...
Quick and easy... I slice them into pizza style wedges, I would them serve the 8 mo old.. some of the shredded cheese and avocado. My 7 mo old LOVES both of those!
I find that baked chicken and mashed potatoes and green beans are always a general favorite for teens and my 5 year old.
I take the clean chicken and add garlic salt and a little pepper, wrap in foil and bake for 45 minutes.
take biscuits and flatten them out. take beef hot dogs and wrap with the biscuit. dip in mustard or ketchup, after baking.kids love them.
great snack is ants on a log
celery with pb and raisins on top
