vinegar (Especially malt vinegar. Substitute ½ cup vinegar for every cup of lemon juice. Products made with vinegar tend to keep longer than those made with lemon juice.)

OR crushed vitamin C tablets dissolved in water (This works well to prevent fruit from discoloring.)

You could bake a basic cheesecake and add what you want on top:

Basic Philly Cheesecake

Crust

1 cup graham cracker crumbs

3 tablespoons sugar

3 tablespoons margarine, melted

Filling

3 (8 ounce) packages Philadelphia Cream cheese, softened

3/4 cup white sugar

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

pie filling (optional) or, to top cheesecake (optional)

Preheat oven to 325F degrees.

Combine crumbs, sugar and melted margarine and press onto the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.

Bake for 10 minutes, remove from oven and raise oven temperature to 450F degrees.

To make filling, combine softened cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer, beating at medium speed until well mixed.

Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition; blend in vanilla then pour into crust.

Bake for 10 minutes at 450F, then reduce heat to 250F and for 25-30 minutes more, or until set.

Loosen cake from rim of pan; cool before removing rim of pan.

Chill; top individual slices with desired topping, if any, just before serving. What can I use as a substitute for lemon juice in cheesecake recipes? My DD is allergic to citrus fruits.?

First off, cocoa IS chocolate.

Second, it depends on what type of cheesecake you're making. if it's some sort of lemon-flavoured thing, there's not much you can do. However, if it's just to add an acid to the recipe, you can substitute white vinegar just fine.
I just asked my mom.She said brandy or whiskey is a substitute for the lemon juice.

The idea of the lemon juice is to cook the eggs and since this person is allergic your best bet is to use brandy or whiskey in place of the lemon juice.
DD? Whatever. If the recipie calls for only a small amount of juice, don't worry, you don't need to replace it with anything. If you really do need it, can you use shaved lemon rindes? What about atificial lemon flavour?
Not all recipes for cheesecake call for lemon juice. Use vanilla or almond flavoring. You can add fruit as well. Look up recipes online or in a book for other suggestions.
for choc are lemon, their are no substitute. However in most Betty Crocker cookbooks she will share substites for as many things as possible. Just leave out the lemon. It is optional any way. JK
Vanilla flavouring - nothing beats a slither of vanilla cheesecake with a small ball of cornish icecream dusted with icing powder. mmmmmmm
try imitation lemon or any flavor extract.

sad about the chocolate..

but even if you make a plain cheesecake , using vanilla extract..real or imitation,, then all fresh fruit that he can eat on top

good luck
